Bare Facts

In this series of paintings, artist Dick Lim explores the many facets of the female form with different  techniques of transferring each onto his canvases.  Some are rendered with a palette knife, while  some are drawn with sweeping strokes of the brush. His drawing of the female forms translates each  into sensual contours, quirky poses, or even the pre-Raphaelite curvy silhouettes.

Yesterday Once More

Yesterday Once More

Those were such memorable times not so long ago and we wondered where they'd gone.  So for artist Dick, he chose to bring them back again; rendering lines and strokes as his memories come flooding back.  Images of the bustling Boat Quay, the quaint and touristy Bugis Village, and even the pre-restored Club Street old shophouse, are part of this exhibition.

SUBTLE INNUENDOS

Dick’s paintings in this series lead you to read between the lines, analyze the subtle innuendos.  In fact, every piece can have a different interpretation. This leads to much deliberations and the conclusion can be varying from one to another.  To  the artist, this makes for interesting and contemplative way to view and discuss his art. Rendered mostly in oil and acrylic on canvas, the subject matter in each artwork will stir one to question the whys, the hows and ifs, provoking a sense of excitement and curiosity.
